Nomads

Nomads are humans unique to Naphalus. Historically they were humans that left demon houses and have joined groups of freed or escaped slaves in the deserts of Naphalus. They run caravans between the various Naphalian cities (angelic and demon) and their warriors are enhanced in order to be able to stand up to powerful demons or the creatures they encounter in the deep deserts of that realm.
Nomad warriors regularly take Kryst (a drug) that turns their bodies indestructible. One of the effects of regular Kryst consumption is that beneath their skin their tissues turn a metallic silver colour. It renders them immune to demonic and magical control. The extreme long term effects of the drug is the build up of the metallic crystalline structures in their bodies which eventually causes paralysis, and they die shortly after that occurs. Nomad warriors often see their progression towards becoming solid statues as a part of protecting the freedom of their people, and few are able to stop consuming the drug that will kill them.
In rare cases some soldiers manage to stop taking Kryst and over time loose the metallic nature of their tissues and the physical and magical protection it affords them.
Nomad warriors can be distinguished by their completely solid silver eyes (iris and cornea), with black pupils. Breaks in their skin reveal the metallic structures underneath but do not bleed.
They fight against demonic society in Naphalus and the slave trade, but in order to survive in it's wilderness they must trade for goods from the various desert settlements. So like the gypsies of the human world the have a love-hate relationship with their position in it.
The demon princes see them as a necessary evil allowing the transport and trade of goods and news between cities without allowing their citizens over much ability to move from one location to an other.
They are almost never found outside the Naphalus, and even more rarely would ever be in the employ of a demon house.
