Bryce was arrested on extortion, assault and weapons charges related to his involvement with a gang (Vidarr's 14). After his conviction the judge gave him the option of a lengthy jail term or signing up with the UN as a soldier. Routine testing during basic training discovered that he had EMA that manifested as a natural knack for knowing how to use weapons. This was a new ability that had not previously been documented and as such he was transferred to IS51 to serve his time.
Bryce’s psyche profile identified him as gregarious and group orientated; he is charismatic and easily attracts a loyal group of young followers ever place he goes. There is some concern that his charisma would allow him to organize a gang or cult; the upside is that his ability could be useful for organizing partisan groups behind enemy lines.
