A full fae-vampire who has stayed awake since the veil dropped between the worlds.
Ryan comes from the age of exploration. His father was from the Stewart Clan in Scotland (Caledon). His mother was a South American Fae. He grew up traveling on tall ships between Spain and the Wilds of the New World. He entered the Jesuit priest hood as a young man in order to help his mother's people, but found his fellow priests were more interested in hunting out pagan worship and saving souls with a sword rather then kindness. He tried to leave the priesthood and was not allowed to. The head of his order was a vampire and instead of have someone desert he attempted to kill Ryan during their next overseas voyage, which brought out Ryan's magic and Fae heritage. Ryan escaped from the ship and washed ashore in the strange land of pre-Roman Caledon where he was found and trained as a mage by a Fae - guardian of Twilight Fortress. He lived as a recluse until he met William and started helping in the fight between the Albion and Caledonian mages. He inadvertently traveled to 1916 CE CSA, and spent his time there joining various expeditions exploring remote parts of the world. In 1931 CE he became the guardian of a fortress in South American that allowed him to start to gain control of his time travel. More precisely it allows him to return to any time he's already been to.
After finding the temple Ryan stopped being as reclusive, and started watching over the other Fae he knew had fallen into the dreaming. Keeping them and their secrets safe.
In 1934 CE he joined the British military. In 1939 CE he went overseas to fight in WWII. He is transferred to military intelligence during his first tour of duty.
At the end of the war he found out about his friend Robert Giddeon's survival though military reports. While searching Robert out he becomes aware of the Nazi experimentation on mages and psis. The ramifications of this quickly became apparent to Ryan and he contacted the other awake Fae he knew to help find, and care for the awakened survivors.

November 1945 CE he, and those helping him propose, an international security force to the newly formed UN. Ryan leaves his position in Britain to become one of the first people in Interpol. Over time he holds numerous positions, always in such a way that he can keep track of, and cover the tracks of those in the dreaming.
November 1998 CE, IS51 (Interpol Section 51) is created to investigate the strange phenomena occurring in conjunction with the Orientani regime that has just taken over China. Ryan Stewart is made IS 51 director, and quickly recruits many of the Fae into the section.
November 000 AE Interpol Section 51 becomes responsible for any infractions of a psi-magical nature in accordance to UN law. Ryan becomes more politically active, and can not work from the shadows.
He is called on regularly in the UN as an expert in magery and psionic issues. He spends much of his time campaigning for equal rights for psis and is very vocal in his condemnation of both the US and Orientani laws and uses of psi-mages. In UN discussions over mana levels he has voiced the opinion that ways should be sought to actively increase them in this world.
His time travel abilities are not commonly known but his refusal to discuss any knowledge of the future usually brings out a metaphysical discussion on his part about the many paths the future can take. (Usually much to the chagrin of those who ask.)
Apart from his work in the UN he is on the board of many scientific research companies, runs a small art gallery in France renown for it's antique sales, and is known to be independently wealthy.
