Shadows

Shadows live in an odd two dimensional world. They are attracted to the souls of other creatures and will follow them feeding off their mana. Some shadows can take three dimensional form but they all exhibit a moral flexibility spawned from the fact they are not entirely part of this dimension. As a group their magic runs slightly slower then that of a human and they can sometimes be mistaken as demonic especially if they have the taint of many deaths marking their spirit. They are used as spies, assassins, and thieves by the unseelie; and they are contracted individually.

Those trained and raised in families of shadows tend to spend most of their time in the two dimensional world, and from birth undergo a rigorous regime of training that is similar to that used to developed skilled assassins of other races. Many  shadows do not think of most of the three dimensional races as worthy of respect.
