Gates

Gates  are the only way to travel through dimensions, however they can also be used by mages to open  magical door between two locations in the same dimension. The spell is a magically intense spell and even in a high mana zone takes a great deal of mana or many people working together to cast one.

Gates are most often temporary, lasting only as long as the mage maintains concentration on them; it takes at least ten times the mana to create a permanent gate that does not require the mage to concentrate on it, plus it must be tied to some renewing magical source. The easiest way of casting gates in the world of Caledon is to use blood or demonic magic.
